Third-party sales

Actavis' sales to third-parties are handled by the company’s subsidiary, Medis.

About Medis
Medis ehf. was established in 1985 to handle exports of pharmaceutical products and intellectual property for Delta, the Icelandic company that later merged with Actavis. Subsequent investment has since strengthened the range of development activities and manufacturing capacity available to Medis’ customers.

The expertise of Medis employees has made a significant contribution to Actavis’ success in the international marketplace, as has the Company’s experience in the export of generic pharmaceutical products. Today, Medis handles the export of the Group’s products to most EU nations and has marketing authorisations in over 50 countries.

Structure
As its parent group continues to grow, Medis plays an increasingly important role in the sale of intellectual property and pharmaceutical products to other pharmaceutical companies. Medis is responsible for Actavis’ third-party sales and handles all communications with customers along with Medis Ltd. in the UK and Medis Pharma GmbH in Germany, which is represented by Midas Pharma GmbH.

To provide the best possible service, operations at Medis Head Office are divided into two units:

  • Business Development
The principal role of this unit is to commercialise intellectual property and pharmaceutical products in global markets. Its goal is to increase international sales of pharmaceuticals and registration documentation, while searching for new opportunities in these fields.
  • Customer Services
Customer Services handles the receipt and processing of orders, and all related customer communications. The unit is also responsible for formulating sales plans in co-operation with Medis customers, and for co-ordinating efforts when products initially enter new markets.

Portfolio
The Medis portfolio consists of high quality EU dossiers developed by its affiliated companies. For further information on available dossiers and worldwide registrations, please contact the Business Development unit at medis@medis.is
