• Elizabeth, NJ: Solid-oral-dose facility for tablets and capsules supporting a broad therapeutic range. Core competency in modified-release products.
• Baltimore, MD: A liquid manufacturer for the US market. The production of this facility is being transferred to Lincolnton with the aim of completing the transaction before year-end 2008.
• Lincolnton, NC: A growing production site for creams, ointments, liquids, and suppository products serving the OTC, branded, and Rx markets in the US. Leading supplier of first aid, feminine hygiene, hydrocortisone, anti-fungal, and permethrin products for private label and own-label sales.
• Totowa, NJ: Actavis has two solid-oral dose manufacturing facilities in Totowa, in Little Falls and at Riverview Drive, in addition to a packaging facility at Taft Road.
• Sunrise, FL: Controlled release and specialty generics.

Iceland
Oral solids and related products
Actavis has one production plant operating to EU standards manufacturing tablets and capsules for Western European markets. Iceland is the principal launch site for new Actavis products.

UK
Oral solids & suppository
An EU GMP approved large solid-oral-dosage facility, the Barnstaple plant has a capacity of 5.5 billion tablets and capsules serving the generic, OTC and Rx markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This site has successfully maintained a highly competitive low-cost position (comparable to Indian suppliers). Increased capacity in this facility is planned for the coming years.

Norway
Self-adhesive plasters and tapes
In Vennesla the Norgesplaster business supplies a large range of self-adhesive plasters and tapes for wound care, sports and specialty applications.

Bulgaria
Oral solids, infusion solutions, creams, ointments
Actavis has three sites in Bulgaria: Dupnitza, Troyan, and Razgrad. One of the Group’s three units in Dupnitza is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, to EU GMP standard. The Bulgarian sites are operating according to Bulgarian and EU GMP standards. These sites produce a wide range of formulations, including tablets, creams, ointments, and capsules.

Italy
Cytostatics, anaesthetics and hormones
Actavis acquired a facility in Nerviano, Italy in 2008. The facility produces sterile products using aseptic processing and terminal sterilisation. Its main product types are cytostatics, anaesthetics, and hormones.

Malta
Oral solids
A refurbished facility with skilled employees, EU GMP approval, and high-volume capacity make the Malta plant a vital supply source for Actavis’ Western European markets. A very significant capacity expansion, both in bulk and packaging, was completed in 2007. 

Serbia
Mostly oral solids
Zdravlje, an Actavis Company, specialises in gastroenterology and cardiology products. The business has been streamlined to reflect the Group’s core business. This facility is in the final stages of a significant upgrade and will be capable of supplying Western European markets in 2009. The plant received ISO 14001 (EHS) certification in December 2006.

Romania
Oncology
Actavis in Romania manufactures and distributes a wide range of oncology compounds. The facility is approved by the MHRA for sales in the European Union and was successfully inspected by the FDA in January 2007.

Russia
Tablets and capsules
Actavis owns a 51% stake in the Russian pharmaceuticals manufacturer ZiO Zdorovje, which is located in Podolsk (about 20 kilometres from Moscow) . The factory has local GMP approval and ISO 9001:2000 certification. This facility is currently undergoing an expansion programme that will be completed in 2008.

Turkey
Oral solids
The manufacturing facilities in Turkey predominantly serve the Turkish market. Three facilities manufacture finished-dosage forms – one focusing on general products, one emphasising cephalosporin products, and one who emphasis is on penicillin-based products. A fourth facility produces APIs.

China
Oral solids, powders, syrup, semi solids and APIs
The Foshan plant produces a range of generic pharmaceuticals and traditional Chinese medicines in tablet, capsule, liquid, cream and powder forms. Serving the local Chinese market, the site has obtained local GMP approval.

An API manufacturing site in Hangzhou, acquired in early 2008, increases Actavis’ API manufacturing capacity.

Indonesia
Oral Solid Dosage Forms (Penicillin as well as Non-Penicillin), Liquids, Creams and Ointments
The Jakarta facility produces dry powder for oral use, topical products, tablets and capsules. The plant is EU GMP approved. The facility currently serves Singapore, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Australia, and a number of EU and EEA countries, in addition to the domestic market.

India
Oral solids, APIs and contract manufacturing
Actavis operates two manufacturing facilities in India, both based in Chennai.

• Actavis Alathur Pharma is a manufacturing facility for oral-solid-dosage products with a future capacity of four billion units. The site has FDA approval.
• Actavis API Alathur was acquired in early 2007 and is an FDA approved manufacturing facility for APIs.
