 Actavis in Asia-Pacific

Actavis has been strengthening its platform in Asia through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.

Actavis has five manufacturing sites in Asia. The Foshan plan in China produces a range of generic pharmaceuticals and traditional Chinese medicines for the local market. An API manufacturing site in Hangzhou, acquired in early 2008, increases Actavis’ API manufacturing capacity.

The facility in Jakarta, Indonesia, produces Solid oral Dosage Forms (Penicillin and Non Penicillin), Semisolids and Liquids which are approved for supply to the European market and also serves Singapore, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Ukraine, in addition to the domestic market.

Actavis’ two manufacturing plants in India are both based in Chennai. Actavis Alathur Pharma is a manufacturing facility for oral-solid-dosage products with a future capacity of four billion units. The site has FDA approval. Actavis API Alathur was acquired in early 2007 and is an FDA-approved manufacturing facility for APIs.

Lotus Labs, a Contract Research Organisation in Bangalore in India, specialises in the management of clinical trials to study the bio-availability and bio-equivalence of drugs, drug-drug interaction and early and late phase clinical trials. Actavis Pharma Development in an API development facility in Bangalore and Chennai. There is also an R&D centre and a Stability centre in Ticel (Chennai).

In the United Arab Emirates, Actavis runs a sales and marketing office handling its business in the Middle East.


Actavis Representative Office Asia Pacific

In partnership with a number of distributors and local agents, the Regional Office located in Jakarta/Indonesia co-ordinates the sales, marketing, regulatory affairs and logistical activities for Actavis within the Asia-Pacific Region (excluding China).
