Established in 1959, the Turkish company FAKO joined the Actavis Group in 2003. It employs about 950 personnel and continues to be one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Actavis Turkey produces finished pharmaceuticals in three plants in Levent facilities, all located in Istanbul. The Levent facility has three plants for penicillin, cephalosporins and non-beta lactam, producing solid dose, liquids and parenteral formulations. The non-beta lactam plant is MCA approved (Medicines Control Agency, UK).

A large sales force organised in 6 groups oversees the sale of generic pharmaceuticals in the Turkish market.

Actavis Turkey has 40 products on the market at the moment, and there are 4 products planned to be launched in 2009.
